Located at Rust en Werk on the right side of the Commewijne River, approximately 5 km from the Atlantic Ocean near Paramaribo, our facility comprises 4.5 hectares of soil-built ponds (semi-intensive) and 2.7 hectares of concrete ponds (intensive) for optimal fish production.
Decades of aquaculture expertise.
Founded in 1987, N.V. COMFISH has been at the forefront of Suriname’s aquaculture development. Our operations evolved from initial experiments with freshwater shrimp and various fish species to successful Red Tilapia production reaching 420 tons annually. Today, we focus on Red Tilapia, Gourami, and Tambaqui for local markets, alongside agricultural research with vegetables and tubers.
